How to Change Your Expenditure Estimate from Dynamic to Static

For people who just want to lock in a single number

  1. Tap “More” in the bottom right corner of your screen

  2. Under the section titled “Feature Settings,” choose “Expenditure”

  3. Under “Advanced,” tap on the line that says “Dynamic/Static”

  4. Select “Static,” and enter your own static expenditure estimate

  5. Tap the checkmark at the top of the page to save

If you switch to a static expenditure estimate, MacroFactor will not update your nutrition targets week-to-week, because program updates are based on dynamic changes to your estimated expenditure. A static expenditure implies no need for weekly updates or adjustments. However, if you switch back to a dynamic expenditure estimate, MacroFactor’s expenditure algorithm will pick right back in real time, as if you’d been using a dynamic expenditure estimate the whole time. So, if you’d like to use a static expenditure estimate for a period of time, there’s no risk in doing so.
