Minimize vertical scrolling by representing foods as horizontally arranged icons within each hour
If you prefer a more condensed food timeline with foods represented by small icons arranged horizontally instead of full food tiles arranged vertically, you may prefer to collapse hours with foods on your food timeline. After collapsing hours with foods, you can expand them again at any time in order to view food-level nutrition info at a glance, or just go back to a more spacious timeline view.
For all users, you can collapse or expand hours with foods by:
Tapping the menu on the top left of the food log screen (three horizontal lines)
Tapping “Collapse (or Expand) Hours”
Food timeline with hours expanded
Food timeline with hours collapsed
If you regularly want to toggle between collapsing or expanding empty hours, you can configure your food timeline to always display a Collapse/Expand Hours with Foods shortcut in the top right corner of your food log. The other option for that shortcut is Show/Hide Empty Hours.
To enable the Collapse/Expand Hours with Foods shortcut:
Go to the “More” menu on the bottom right corner of the screen
Scroll down to “Feature Settings,” and tap “Food Timeline”
Scroll down to “Top Right Shortcut” and select “Collapse/Expand Hours with Foods”
With this shortcut enabled, you can collapse or expand hours with foods on your food timeline at any time with a single action. Just tap the “Collapse/Expand Hours with Foods” shortcut icon on the top right of your food log.
With the Expand/Collapse Hours with Foods shortcut enabled, this button will persist at the top of your food log.
